While the term "soshoku (herbivore) boy" has become a popular way to describe the typical modest and romantically-passive young Japanese male of today, there is another group emerging also dubbed "soshoku" boys -- the same pronunciation but with a different character, meaning "decorative." These new soshoku boys are the opposite of passive when it comes to fashion and appearance.
