80% of the salad eaten in Havana are produced by residents in intensive organic gardens located in the city. They've had to do this because when the Soviet Union collapsed, oil supplies to Cuba were cut off and conventional agriculture could not meet the food needs of the city any more. We will face the same situation here in the U.K. soon, so (once again) we have a lot to learn from those 'revolutionary' Cubans!
