Many people lined up at electronics stores nationwide on Monday as Apple Inc.'s new iPad tablet computer became available for pre-orders. Apple Inc.'s retail stores in Japan, as well as other contracted distributors of the iPad, including Softbank Mobile Corp.'s outlets and some electronics suppliers such as Bic Camera, started accepting iPad orders on Monday morning.
