London design brand Hulger has launched Plumen, a product it describes as “the world’s first designer low-energy light bulb”.
Here’s a new solar powered lamp created by Jesper Jonsson that features a collapsible design for easy transportation and storage. When you unfold and expand its shade via a twisting motion, the smart light then can use the solar powered collected during the daytime to light up your dark night.
Combining the usefulness of ordinary furniture and accessories always brings out interesting concepts and Sleepy Lamp is a great example of that.
There is an element of surprise in the “Levita” shelf, an interesting piece of decor and furniture created by Alessandro Loschiavo. But do not let the images or the designer fool your eyes, because these A4 paper sheets are actually a series of hammered sheet metal planes. So the shelf is really durable though people may take it as a fragile one. It indeed looks like an art piece, but the shelf is also practical for frequent use.
The common usage of a hanger is to hang up clothes. Fixing hangers around a bulb transforms them into a ceiling light with interesting shadow lines. The design of ‘light MI‘ gives the original hanger a new function and alters it into an abstract shape. Disrupted from its original context, the single hanger is no longer perceptible. In addition to the lighting feature, the lamp can also be used to hang lightweight items on the hangers, such as postcards or seasonal decoration.
